COHEN & COMPANY SECURITIES ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES IN TRADING OF MORTGAGE BACKED SECURITIES AND CORPORATES.

Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY - May 19, 2009 - Cohen & Company Securities, LLC, Cohen & Company’s registered broker-dealer, is pleased to announce the addition of David Kaplan to its fixed income sales and trading unit. David has a deep background in both trading and selling mortgage backed securities. David rose to Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Company as a mortgage sales specialist before moving to the buy side as a hedge fund portfolio manager for Mariner and Highland Capital. At Cohen & Company Securities, LLC, David will be responsible for trading all non-agency mortgage products.

Dave McAllister has also joined Cohen & Company Securities, LLC as a senior high grade corporate bond and crossover securities trader. Dave has been both a high yield and high grade corporate trader during his Wall Street career having traded for Bank of America Securities, UBS Securities and Barclays Capital. Prior to joining Cohen & Company Securities, LLC, David worked for CapRock Securities as a Sales/Trader.
