COHEN & COMPANY SECURITIES ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES IN CORPORATE SALES AND AGENCY MORTGAGE SECURITIES TRADING
Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY – August 3, 2009 – Cohen & Company Securities, LLC (“Cohen & Company Securities”), Cohen & Company’s registered broker-dealer, is pleased to announce several new hires in its Institutional Sales and Trading business. Don Pruett has joined Cohen & Company Securities as a Managing Director in institutional corporate bond sales. Don will have coverage responsibility for the majority of large West Coast based institutional buyers of corporate bonds. Don spent close to 20 years in senior sales roles with a focus on corporate bonds for West Coast institutions for Merrill Lynch and HSBC Securities.
Julia Posacki has joined Cohen & Company Securities as a Director with the institutional fixed income sales force in New York. Julia brings eight years of experience in the global fixed income markets to Cohen & Company Securities. Prior to joining Cohen & Company Securities, Julia held positions in the institutional Capital Markets divisions of Barclay Investments, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. At Cohen & Company Securities, Julia will focus on high grade and cross-over corporate bond sales.
Mike Naughton has joined Cohen & Company Securities as a Managing Director in the Agency Mortgage Securities Trading unit based in New York. Mike will report to the head of Agency Mortgage Trading, Peter Incledon, will focus on trading secondary agency derivatives, and will be a key member of the agency new issue origination team. Mike brings to Cohen & Company Securities a substantial degree of trading experience and knowledge of the mortgage market having spent more than 10 years trading mortgage securities for Bear Stearns, UBS Securities and Countrywide Securities before joining mortgage hedge fund West Side Advisors for the past seven years as a senior Portfolio Manager.
