COHEN & COMPANY SECURITIES LAUNCHES LEVERAGED FINANCE BUSINESS
– New Business Led By Industry Veterans Scott Siemers and Ken Casey –

New York, NY – December 8, 2009 – Cohen & Company Securities, LLC (“Cohen & Company Securities”), the registered broker-dealer subsidiary of Cohen & Company, today announced the launch of a new, comprehensive Leveraged Finance business encompassing banking, sales, trading and research.

Led by well-known industry veterans Scott Siemers and Ken Casey, the new business is based in New York. Previously, Scott Siemers held senior positions in the high yield trading departments at DLJ, Credit Suisse and JP Morgan and enjoyed a senior banking role at investment boutique Guggenheim Capital Markets. Prior to joining Cohen & Company Securities, Ken Casey served as the head of high yield trading at Kidder Peabody, Miller Tabak and Guggenheim Capital Markets. Both Scott Siemers and Ken Casey will report directly to Christopher Ricciardi, CEO of Cohen & Company.

Joining Scott and Ken as Managing Directors in the new Leveraged Finance business are senior institutional salesmen Larry Berger and Kevin McDonald; senior traders Brad Wendler, Charles Womack and Alan Hunt and senior research analyst Keith Gudhus. Also joining the team are Peter Zipf and Ryan Casey. Cohen & Company Securities plans to add sales, research and banking talent to this initial nucleus of professionals over the next several quarters.
