New York, NY – May 28, 2010 Cohen & Company Securities, LLC (“Cohen & Company Securities”), Cohen & Company’s registered broker-dealer, is pleased to announce that Aaron Read has joined Cohen & Company Securities as a Director and Senior Trader in the Non-Agency MBS group.

Aaron has a decade of experience in the structured products markets. He spent most of his career at Blackrock where he held various positions including Head of Trading for cash ABS, Portfolio Manager for the $28 billion short duration strategy, and Member of the fixed income Investment Strategy Group. He was also a portfolio manager at Blue Mountain Capital Management responsible for investment strategy and trade implementation across ABS sectors. Most recently, he was a structured products trader at the investment bank, Miller Tabak Robers. There he was responsible for trading a wide variety of structured products for the firm’s institutional clients. Aaron earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from University of Rhode Island and an MS in Financial Engineering from Columbia University.

He will be based in our New York office reporting to Dave Kaplan, Head of Non-Agency MBS trading.
